Former SRTC employees demand clearing dues | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 14: All Jammu and Kashmir Volunteer Retirement Employees Association (VREA) has once again urged the management of State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) to clear the dues of the workers who took voluntary retirement. Addressing a meeting of the association, president Dev Raj Bali while welcoming the Rs 1000 crore package extended by the central government to the state appealed the MD of the corporation to clear the pending dues of the workers. He alleged that despite repeated assurances by the government to the VRS employees, so far only 50 per cent dues have been cleared by the management, which is highly discriminatory. He said that even the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) slabs have not been cleared by the management which has created problems for the workers. Others who were present on the occasion include Balwinder Singh, D.N Sharma, B.V Sharma, Asan Elihi, Surjit Singh, Guslahn Singh.
