Ascertain weather, medical status before proceeding on pilgrimage: SASB | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, July 14: R. K. Goyal, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, has reiterated his advice that all those who intend to visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji should, in their own interest, ascertain the to-date weather conditions in the Yatra area before embarking on the pilgrimage, in view of the generally cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers expected during the next 5 days, from 15th July to 19th July, in the Kashmir Division. According to the Meteorological Department forecast: 15th – 17th July will be generally cloudy with light rain/thundershowers; and light rain at isolated places is likely on 18th and 19th July, in the Kashmir Division. He said that the details of weather forecast are available on the website (www.amssdelhi.gov.in) of the Indian Meteorological Department. Goyal also urged all intending pilgrims to have themselves medically checked and no one with any orthopaedic problem, chest or lung ailment or any cardiac deficiency is advised to undertake this arduous Yatra which involves tracking upto 14,000 feet. Since today morning the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine has been progressing satisfactorily, on both the Chandanwari and Baltal routes. Meanwhile, thundershowers/rains have been reported at the Sheshnag, Panjtarni and Holy Cave Camp areas this afternoon.
