‘Tajikstan ready to give concession to Kashmiris’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, July 14 (KNS): Tajikistan’s Ambassador to India, Saidov Saidbeg, Thursday, said his country would give an airfare concession to Kashmiris who travel to Tajikistan.
Talking to KNS, he said that Tajikistan had close relationship with Kashmir. “Amir-i-Kabir (RA) hailed from Tajikistan and we share a strong bond with Kashmir,” he said.
The Ambassador said that Tajikistan government was ready to offer concessions to Kashmiri travelers. “The government in Tajikistan is ready to give huge concessions to Kashmiris,” he said.
Saidbeg said that he was overwhelmed with the recent function at Kashmir University organized by civil society on Awalias of Kashmir. “The function was a tribute to the Awalias and it was aimed to commemorate their greatness and teachings,” he said.
Saidbeg said that people would be allowed to visit the grave of Amir-i-Kabir (RA) in Khatlan. “Tajikistan is a 30 minute journey by aeroplane from Kashmir and people must come and visit Khatlan where Amir-i-Kabir (RA) was buried,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has already taken up the issue of concession with the centre. (KNS)
