CM stresses for clearance mechanism SKEWPY cases | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, July 14 (KNS): Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Thursday stressed on energizing the clearance mechanism of cases under SKEWPY asking Jammu and Kashmir Bank and EDI to develop a shelf of standard Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for various profitable ventures for the interested entrepreneurs.
“A readymade standard DPR bank should be available for the budding entrepreneurs so that they could take best advantage of it and move forward saving time and efforts”, he said emphasizing on large scale awareness campaign by both the two organizations to acquaint the youth about the modus operand and efficacy of SKEWPY to earn livelihood independently and respectfully.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a high level meeting of officers to discuss the third party survey report conducted about the status of SKEPWY in the State.
Omar asked the EDI, Employment Department and J&K Bank to look at the survey report critically, analyze the weak points identified, take lessons and remove the hurdles. He asked them to adhere to the guidelines of SKEWPY regarding seed money, loans, mortgages and guarantees. “Wherever required the Centre Government should be asked to widen the umbrella for easy loans to young entrepreneurs and if found necessary the State Finance Department should work out introducing its own umbrella for the same”, he said highlighting the need for making the process of sanctioning economic units to the entrepreneurs hassle free and smooth.
The Chief Minister underlining the importance of proper campaigning and disseminating necessary information to the youth about SKEWPY asked the J&K Bank to include the scheme in the poster; the Bank publishes and circulates for home loans and other schemes. “A team from EDI should also visit universities and higher educational institutions to provide details of SKEWPY to youth”, he said asking for making lectures of J&K Bank experts regarding various aspects of loan availability as a regular feature in the training programme of EDI for budding entrepreneurs.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Higher Education and Employment, Abdul Gani Malik, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Mushtaq Ahmad, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, B. B. Vyas, Commissioner Secretary Finance, Sudhanshu Pandey, Commissioner Secretary Employment, Farooq Ahmad Peer, Director EDI, M. I. Parrey and various senior officers.
