SR College conducts mock interviews

JAMMU, July 14: By inviting panel of experts, the SR College of Competitions conducted mock interviews to prepare the students for ongoing interviews of KAS, conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC).
The students were asked questions from different fields during these interviews by the members, who also guided them by making necessary corrections at the end of question-answer session.
Students appearing for the exercise were grilled by the panel of experts posing questions, seeking views and asking for objective appreciation and analysis of matters relating to personal profile of the candidates. As also, issues relating to the society, state and country besides current affairs of national and international importance were discussed.
Students were also guided regarding desirable attributes which are expected of a Civil Servant, like honesty, integrity, sincerity, clarity of thoughts and expressions as also ability to take decision, self belief and confidence, positive approach, politeness and leadership qualities.
The panel also focused on the perspective, attributes and skills of the personality test, how to select and prepare for relevant topics, tips to improve verbal communication skills, projecting a confidant body language, effective use of non-verbal communication, tackling issues related to current events.
Panel of experts included Mohd Aijaz (IAS), Dr Sarvjeet Soodan (IAS), Bhupinder Kumar (IAS), Vimarsh Aryan(IAS), Parveen Sharma (Director SR College of Competitions).
In the meantime, Director of the College, Parveen Sharma said, "The ongoing mock interviews are a great success in building confidence among the students. With this, we have been able to gauge the depth of one’s preparation and to identify one’s shortcomings. Such exercise helps in imparting confidence and self belief among the target students.”
