JKCA to initiate legal action against critics

JAMMU, July 14: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) contemplating legal action against those non-cricketers, who are part of the false propaganda and disinformation campaign against the Association, particularly, its chairman, Mohd Aslam Goni.

This was disclosed in a press conference addressed by Media and External Relations Committee chairman, Ranjeet Kalra at the JKCA Jammu wing office, here this afternoon.

He said, “The Association has taken a strong note of the false propaganda and disinformation campaign being spread by some non-cricketing persons and disgruntled elements against the association and its chairman, so we are going to initiate legal action against such individuals and organizations.”

He further said that the association remains a collective unit and whenever some accusation is made, it affects the dignity and honour of each and every member. “There is also a group of Jammu based members of the Association, who unfortunately at the behest of these vested interests are making all efforts to stall the construction of the Cricket Stadium and the development of cricket in Jammu,” he lamented.

Giving clarification with regard to cricket stadium at Bajalta, he said, “The JKCA president, Dr Farooq Abdullah, along with the Association members and technical team had visited the stadium site on the June 28 to take stock of the Architectural Contour site plans and there was no program to lay the foundation stone on June 29 as has been falsely propagated.”

Among others present were Shamboo Nath Sharma, Hardev Singh Jamwal, Ashok Singh, Prof. B. D. Damral, Ravi Kant Gupta, Rohit Malhotra, M L Chouhan, Dr Vinod Bakshi, Vijay Sharma, Shahid Parvez, Dinesh Jastrotia, Ashok Dutta, Ejaaz Ahmed Malik, Randhir Singh, Prithvi Vaid, Surinder Singh Bagal, Raj Kumar Bakshi, Ravi Kant, Harsh Nayyar, Ajit Silwal, Kavaljeet Singh, Ashwani Gupta, Suresh Singh, Pankaj Sasun and other senior cricketers.
