| Amarnath pilgrim falls into gorge, dies | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 14: An Amarnath pilgrim today died after he slipped and fell into a gorge at Nougam in Banihal area of Ramban.
Police said Udai Bhai Pramat, son of Sagan Pramat of Porbandar, Gujarat, was walking by the roadside at Nougam when he slipped all of a sudden and fell into a deep gorge, resulting in his instant death.
Police took out his body from the gorge and evacuated it to hospital mortuary where post-mortem was conducted on it. It was later handed over to his family for last rites.
He had come along with his wife and other family members for the darshans of ice lingam in the holy cave shrine of Baba Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas. |
