| Promotion of Asst Environmental Engineers | | HC issued directive | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, July-15 (JNF):- The High Court today issued directives on promotion of assistant Environmental Engineers in a petition filed by Sanjay Kumar Rather Junior Environmental Engineer working in the State Pollution Control Board.
The petitioner has challenged the promotions of five Junior Environmental Engineers as Asst Environmental Engineers order issued by the Board on April 6, 2010.
Justice JP Singh after hearing Advocate Vipin Gandotra for the petitioner whereas AAG Mr. Jagdish Parihar for the State respondents, Advocates Meenu Koul & Rakesh Sharma appeared for the private respondents observed that the promotions of the respondents was stayed by the High Court vide order dated August 11, 2010 on the ground that Single Judge of this Court had stayed these promotions in similar Writ Petitions.
However as the petition has been admitted to hearing to decide finally the issues raised by the parties, inter alia, as to the sustainability or otherwise of the respondents’ promotion, it would be appropriate to keep the promotion of the respondents subject to the orders in the Petition.
Court modified the interim order dated August 11, 2010 the promotion of respondents as Assistant Environmental Engineer shall remain subject to the final orders in the Petition. JNF
