Academic calendar of the GCWP released

July 15: Minister for Higher Education Abdul Ghani Malik today released the academic calendar of the Govt. College for Women Parade for the year 2011-12 .
Speaking on the occasion the Minister said that the provision of a high-quality learning for an increasingly diverse student population is both a challenge and an opportunity for the higher education institutions.
Actively engaging students in the learning process will ensure that they hone the transferable skills that will equip them for the lifelong learning that the rapidly changing needs of the modern global economy demands.
Innovative pedagogies and new technologies will foster this active engagement, and teachers have an important part to play in ensuring that these provide an excellent learning experience for today’s student.
He also appreciated the literary effort done by the principal and teachers and lauded the work done by the college that has grown in stature and strength and has become one of the finest college dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and excellence.
Insurance cheques were also distributed among the aggrieved parents whose children died in a tragic road accident.
Minister also paid visit to various block of the college and inspected various development program going on in the college. He emphasized on the health card to be made for every student in order to generate awareness in their families also.
He sanctioned purchase of AC for the dispensary. Principal Kiran Bakshi and other staff members were present on the occasion. M.S Pathania presented vote of thanks.
