Rain/thundershowers expected in Yatra area on Sunday: Shrine Board

SRINAGAR, July 16: R K Goyal, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, stated that as per the Meteorological Department’s forecast for the next 5 days there is a possibility of light rain/thundershower on July 17 and it will be partly cloudy on 18th – July 21, 2011 in the Kashmir Division.
The CEO appealed to all those who intend to visit the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji to ascertain the to-date weather conditions in the Yatra area before embarking on the pilgrimage. The details of weather forecast are available on the website (www.amssdelhi.gov.in) of the Indian Meteorological Department.
In view of the early morning rain, the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine from various Camps could commence only around 8.30 AM today. The movement of Yatris is presently progressing satisfactorily on both the Chandanwari and Baltal routes.
