Ruling NC, Cong workers join PDP | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 16: Normally political workers deser their parent party to join the ruling party. But today's function at Zainakote, Srinagar was different. Members of ruling Congress - National Conference coalition joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Senior NC worker Ghulam Qadir Parray while joining the party along with his colleagues said he was impressed by the `dynamic leadership and pro-people policies of the PDP'. Moulvi Qadeer and abdul Salam of Parimpora who are known for their association with Congress also joined PDP along with their associates. The PDP leaders availed the opportunity to accuse NC of neglecting Srinagar city. "The city especially the Batmaloo area has been neglected by the National Conference notwithstanding the fact that the city elected as many as ten persons from National Conference duringb the 2008 elections. The leaders also accused the coalition government of patronizing goons. Senior NC workers of Batmaloo zone seemed worried over the development. The constituency is represented by Irfan Shah Son of late Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah. He defeated former Finance minister and senior PDP leader, Tariq Qarra in the 2008 Assembly elections. Irfan Shah was not available for comment. However, people close to him said NC cannot be weakened by such `cheap methods'.
