Govt approves Rs. 69 cr for maternity hospital at Gandhi Nagar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 16: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said Government has approved Rs. 69 crore funds for construction of 200-bed Maternity hospital on the available site at Gandhi Nagar hospital adding with the construction of hospital, the rush of Gayne patient in SMGS hospital at Shalamar to be reduced to a large extent. This was stated by the Minister while interacting with Medical and para-medical faculties during his inspection tour to Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital. Bhalla inspected all the wards, blood bank, emergency ward, surgery, orthopedic, ENT, Eye, Dental, Casuality, Homepathy, Ayurvedic, X-ray, Ultra Sound, ECG, operation theatre, laboratories, and took-stock of the facilities being provided to the patients.He asked the hospital authorities to provide free medicare services to senior citizens, physically challenged and Below Poverty Line patients in the hospital adding that Government is committed to bear all the expenses that is spent on them. He appreciated the endeavors of Medical Superintendent, Dr Madhu Khullar for facing the hospital and hoped that with the efforts of her entire team, the Gandhi Nagar hospital would shortly figure among the best institutions in Jammu of temples. Responding to the demands of doctors, the Bhalla informed that Government is prepared a plan for providing MRI, digital X-ray, ventilator facilities at par with Government Medical College, Jammu. Regarding adequate drinking water facilities in the hospital, he asked the PHE authorities to prepare a detailed project report for construction of tube well in the hospital. He asked the PDD to install one more 6.3 KVA transformer in the hospital.
