PDP Labour Cell demands release of COLA

HUNDREDS of employees and workers of different departments and public sector undertakings held a meeting with Ishtiyaq Qadiri in chair here today. The meeting held under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Labour Cell was presided over by Dhaman Bhasin General Secretary PDP. Darshan Magotra State General Secretary PDP Labour Cell organized the meeting and representatives of various employees’ unions including PHE, Floriculture Department, State Forest Corporation, JKU, SRTC, PDD, SIDCO, Wool Board and State Labour Union attended the meeting and discussed the problems faced by the workers and employees.
Addressing the meeting the leaders urged Chief Minister and the Finance Minister to release pending installments of COLA in favour of public sector employees and demanded that the COLA be converted in Dearness Allowance, besides reviving LTC, implementation of SRO 149 in Engineering Departments.
Dhaman Bhasin urged the working class to ensure punctuality, transparency in their working and adhere to the work culture as envisioned by the Chief Minister.
