Ascertain weather review medical status before embarking on pilgrimage: Shrine Board | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, july 17: Preet Pal Singh, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, has urged all those who intend to undertake the Shri Amarnathji Yatra to ascertain the to-date weather conditions in the Yatra area before embarking on their pilgrimage. According to the Meteorological Department forecast for Kashmir Division: there is a possibility of partly cloudy sky on July18 and 22; it will be generally cloudy on July 20 and 21 and light rain/thundershower is expected on July 19. The details of weather forecast are available on the website of the Indian Meteorological Department, at (www.amssdelhi.gov.in). Singh also urged all intending pilgrims to have them medically examined and any one with an orthopedic problem, chest or lung ailment or any cardiac deficiency must not undertake the arduous Yatra, involving trekking upto 14,000 feet. He stated that for want of medical assessment before embarking upon the Yatra as many as 62 pilgrims had most unfortunately lost their lives. Since today morning the Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine has been progressing satisfactorily, on both the Chandanwari and Baltal routes.
