Jammu, July 17: Yarana Indian Baroo clinched the Kargil War Memorial Cricket Cup by defeating Friends Baltistan by 45 runs
Yarana Indian Baroo clinched the Kargil War Memorial Cricket Cup by defeating Friends Baltistan by 45 runs today at Khree Sultan Choo Stadium Biamathang Kargil. In the final Yarana Indian Baroo scored 167 runs in 20 over, while chasing this score Friends Baltistan collapsed at 122 in 20 overs. Altaf of Yarana Indian Baroo was adjudged the man of the match, Ansar of Friend Drass was declared man of the series. This Tournament was organized by Himalayan Development Organization to commemorate the Kargil War Martyrs. In this tournament 91 teams from all the blocks of Kargil District participated.
On this occasion the Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil Haji Ghulam Amir was the Chief Guest who, while interacting with the people congratulated both the team for reaching to the finals and said that he was astonished by the performance of both the Teams. He said that both the teams showed a great discipline and sportsmanship which is must to maintain peace and communal harmony in this era.
Haji Amir said further said that the youths has to focus on education also and has to make them-selves competent for this competitive world. Later he distributed prizes among the winner and runner up teams.
On this occasion councilors, District Officers and prominent citizens of Kargil along with thousands of supporter were also present.
The Councilor Baroo Ghulam Murtaza announced a cash prize of ten thousand rupees to Yarana Indian Baroo and Councilor Hardass Syed Razvi announced a cash prize of Five thousand rupees to Friends Baltistan team.
