NABARD CONCLUDES MICRO-CREDIT WORKSHOP AT SBI LEARNING CENTRE. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July 17:- A three-day workshop on micro-finance with special focus on thrust to Self Help Groups/Farmer clubs JLG’s and KCC inaugurated by M.L Sukhdeve; CGM NABARD on Thursday was concluded by V.V.V Satyanarayana, General Manager NABARD at SBLC (SBI) Jammu. GM while addressing a group of Lead District Managers, Director SBI R-SETI and Counsellors of FLCC’s from J&K and HP laid special emphasis to enhance flow of credit to Micro areas under the ambit of PS lending’s by the Bank.
Satyanarayana had interactive session with the participants and got feedback and gave numerous clarifications. He was happy to note that a group of more than 40 senior officials of State Bank had gone to far-flung villages situated at Indo-Pak border to gain experience and urged all the participants to redouble their efforts to help rural poor in general and overall enhancing share in agriculture lending in particular to achieve 18% National bench-mark of total Bank credit.
V.P Sharma, AGM SBI (LB-RRB/MC) from LHO Chandigarh thanked GM NABARD and assured that the team is fully pumped up and desired end will definitely be achieved very shortly. Harkesh Katoch official incharge R-SETI LHO provided material of expected role to all the participants which are in vogue as per new Lead Bank scheme guidelines.
AGM SBLC, Daljit Singh and Regional manager, SBI P.K Abrol also had thread bare discussions with the participants and assured every help in the area promoting Micro-Finance and urged all the participants to take a pledge and give practical shape to the expectations of workshop/Bank in true spirits. Vote of thanks was given by AGM Sharma from SBI Head Office Chandigarh.
