PDP a roadblock in restoration of AC: Vakil | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, July 18 (KNS): Senior Congress leader and former minister, Abdul Gani Vakil, Monday, said that Peoples Democratic Party was a roadblock in restoration of Accountability Commission. Addressing a gathering in north Kashmir’s Rafiabad area, Vakil said the Government should follow the lines of former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in combating corruption. “The coalition government should seek Azad sahib’s idea of combating corruption. He had stated that the property of any officer which exceeds his income will go to the state.” Referring to 280 crore employment package by Centre for Kashmir, the former minister said that centre was keen to see Kashmir develop. “It seems Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh are very concerned over Kashmir’s development,” he said adding that centre was focusing to curb unemployment in the state Stressing that Centre’s budget be spend on developmental works, he said that CM should himself intervene in implementation of policies. “Funds from centre must be spent wisely and chief minister should himself intervene,” Vakil said.
