| Dhar elected President of TRT Nagrota | | |

Jammu, July 18: Piyaray Lal Dhar has been elected President in the election held by the inmates of two room migrant tenements Nagrota, here today.
Among 299 votes poled, out of a total of 384 votes (one vote per family), PL Dhar secured 164 votes and defeated his nearest rival Bihari Lal Sharma (55 votes) by a huge margin of 109 votes.
The other three contestants in Roop Krishan Koul, Chand Ji Bhat and Bansi Lal Raina bagged 41, 35 and 4 votes respectively.
The election in which 78% voters caste votes was held under overall supervision of the election committee constituted by the camp inmates one month prior to the aforesaid elections.
The election committee members included Autar Krishan Dhar, Vijay Kumar Pandita, MK Bhat, AK Rishi, Onkar Nath Raina and Autar Krishan Bhat.
Autar Krishan was presiding officer during the elections while Sohan Lal Hangloo was the returning officer. Kamal Ji and Vinod Bhat were the polling officers.
Meanwhile, addressing a large gathering after being elected as president of TRT Nagrota, Dhar assured the camp inmates that he will work for the welfare of the colony in accordance with his already floated eleven point manifesto and leave no stone unturned in solving the day to day problems of the residents, adding that representation will be given to Sikh community in the welfare committee to be framed soon.
