| RR inaugurates wielding course for ST candidates | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Rajouri, July 18: Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Kalakote inaugurated the six weeks long ESDP on Welding course for ST candidates at Kalakote commencing from 18 Jul.
The course will be conducted by MSME-DI (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute), Jammu.
The youth of the remote areas do not get chance to upskill their capabilities because of lack of facilities.
Hence this is an effort in the part of Army in collaboration with MSME-DI to reach out to the people and empower them.
Speaking on the occasion, Virender Sharma, Director MSME-DI Jammu told that their aim is to train and increase availability of skilled Labours.
With the help of the Army they are able to bring such initiatives to remote and rural areas, the youth of which otherwise could not have got such a chance.
Prominent citizens of Kalakote, namely Abdul Haq, Maulvi Jamma Masjid, Vijay Suri, President Kalakote Bazar Samiti, Md Sharif, Sarpanch Kothiyan and Babu Khan ex-sarpanch Kharak expressed their thankfulness for providing such a chance to the youth to up grade their skills which will help them to secure jobs and keep them away from evil elements of the society.
The Army will in future in collaboration with the MSME-DI conduct courses in vocations as per demands of the local populations. The course will give an opportunity to 25 youths of various far flung areas in vicinity of Kalakote to learn the skills of welding.
After the culmination of the course the participants will be handed over certificates by the MSME-DI which is recognised by government departments.
MSME-DI will also help interested candidates for securing soft loans.
