| Kidnapper held, girl recovered | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
rajouri: A youth, who had allegedly abducted a minor girl from Kanthol in Kandi near here on May 8 last, was today arrested by police from Kachwan forests in Anantnag, Kashmir.
The girl was also recovered from a dhok in Kachwan woods, according to police sources.
Nazir Hussain, son of Mohammad Shafi of Kanthol was alleged to have abducted Shazia Akhtar, daughter of his neighbour Faqir Mohammad, on May 8 and taken her to Kashmir.
Acting on a tip-off, a police party led by Kandi police station SHO, SI Arshad Ahmad, today raided the dhok in Kachwan forests and recovered the girl from there, the sources added.
Nazir too was arrested from the nearby woods. Both of them were then brought to Rajouri where a medical examination was conducted on the girl. She was later handed over to her parents.Police had registered a case against the accused under section 363/109 of RPC. |
