Battery dealer dupes people of Rs 20 lakh, flees | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU: A Punjab resident, who owned a battery shop at Janipura here, has gone underground after duping local people, including shopkeepers, of over Rs 20 lakh. A complaint in this regard was lodged by the people with Janipura police station today. They alleged that Manu Mahajan, son of Ashok Kumar, who sold batteries in a shop at Janipura, had duped them of Rs 20 lakh and fled the state. Manu, originally a resident of Punjab, was at present putting up Lakkar Mandi, Janipura. Police said he had also not given rent of shop to its owner for the past four months. Police today raided several places of his aquaintances in the city but could not find any clue to his whereabouts. Police teams were likely to be despatched to Punjab to lay hands on him. |
