| Waiting elevation as Dy Director, Poonch CMO demoted | | | Amit Sharma

Poonch, July 18: In a rare development, Chief Miedical officer Poonch who was awaiting promotion as Deputy Director was demoted. Although the shocked officer has challenged the order, he has been `forced' to join his duties.
According to sources, Director Health Services Jammu has issued an order to Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr Niyaz Choudhary to join duties as Superintendent Hospital Poonch while Superintendent and his sub-ordinate Dr Younis Choudhary has been made new CMO Poonch.
Although Dr Niyaz was expecting to be promoted as Deputy Director, he received a shock when the authorities made him accountable to his sub-ordinate.
Sources said that the transfer is completely politically motivated and a Pahari as well as Gujjar political leader is said to be behind demoting Dr Niyaz. Sources said these Gujjar-Pahari leaders played role in elevation of Superintendent to CMO and demotion of CMO to Superintendent.
When contacted, Dy Niyaz Choudhary said that the order has shocked him because he was expecting the order of Deputy Director. He said that he has made an appeal against the order and in the meanwhile he has obeyed the order and join duties as Superintendent. "This is not justice with me and nobody should expect justice after doing good work in the department", annoyed doctor said. |
