SRINAGAR, JULY 18: Minister for Health, Horticulture, .Sham Lal Sharma today convened an officers meeting to review the measures taken for implementation of Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY) in the State,
Threadbare discussion was held on various issues relating to compilation, computerization and scrutiny of BPL data.
Addressing the meeting, Sham Lal asked the officers to keep a close liaison with Deputy Commissioners, Srinagar and Jammu for immediate preparation of BPL lists according to the guidelines of the Yojna. He said that in the first phase, the BPL population of two districts of Jammu and Srinagar would be covered under the Health Insurance Policy of the yojna, while remaining districts would be covered in the second phase.
The Minister asked the officers to work in coordination and missionary spirit so that the scheme could be implemented in the State at an earliest and the benefits reach to the poor families as per the spirit of scheme.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary Health, . G.A Peer, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Saleem –ur- Rehman, Director NRHM, Dr Yashpal ,
Director Family Welfare, Dr. Rakesh Khajuria and other senior officers of various departments were also present.
