Dy CM stresses time bound completion of dev works | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, JULY –18 :- Plan allocation of Rs.81.91 Crores for district Udhampur has been approved for the financial year 2011-12 at a District Development Board meeting chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand who is also the Chairman of District Development Board, Udhampur, here today. The approved outlay includes Rs. 28.39 Crore as Revenue and Rs. 53.52 Crore as Capital component respectively. Addressing the meeting the Deputy Chief Minister complimented the district administration for showing remarkable achievement by achieving almost cent percent targets of expenditure allocated last fiscal. The Dy. CM directed the Officers to put in their dedicated efforts in proper utilization of funds by ensuring time bound completion of development works in a transparent manner. The Deputy CM directed the officers to plan frequent tour of remote and hilly areas to monitor the development works pertaining to their departments so that better results could be ensured on the ground with no compromise on the quality of works executed. He hoped that the officers would put in their sincere efforts in achieving optimum results on the ground, this year also. Reiterating the commitment of a present government for equal development of all regions of the state, the Deputy CM said that main emphasis is being laid on the progress of hitherto neglected areas by providing basic amenities of life. He also complimented the MLAs and MLC for highlighting the problems and demands of their respective jurisdictions in an effective manner. He assured them full cooperation to redress the grievances of the people of their areas in a phased manner. He also appreciated them for helping the government in the execution of various developmental projects in their respective areas. MP, Ch. Lal Singh, in his address highlighted the demands of the people of the district especially those living in hilly and backward areas which mainly include road connectivity to left out remote areas under PMGSY, procurement of fruits and other crop produce of the farmers, enhancement of wages of SPOs, construction of suspension bridges over Nullahas in hilly areas of the district, up gradation of Laddan Power House road, timely and adequate supply of fertilizers, holding of regular awareness camps regarding flagship programmes etc. MLA, . Harsh Dev Singh projected demands which mainly include land compensation to land owners under PMGSY, filling up of vacant posts in various educational and health institutions, adjustment of newly promoted teachers & Masters in their respective home districts, new degree college for Majalta tehsil, power connectivity to left out morhas in Ramnagar tehsil, proper and timely distribution of seeds and fertilizers to farmers, PHE water tankers for each tehsil etc. Presenting the brief resume of physical and financial achievements registered during last financial year, the DDC said that against the available allocation of Rs. 87.92 Crore, and expenditure of Rs. 87.79 Crore was incurred during last fiscal which works out to 99.85 per cent. Highlighting the proposals set for the current financial year under major sectors, the DDC said that an amount of Rs. 35.69 Crore has been earmarked for Education Sector, Rs. 14.49 crore under PWD sector, Rs. 3.14 Crore has been kept under PHE sector for augmentation of drinking water supply, Rs.3.03 Crore under Health Sector for strengthening heath institutional infrastructure , Rs. 49.91 lacs under forests sector ,Rs.40.12 Lacs for Agriculture Sector, Rs.34.50 lacs for repair of transformers under Power sector. Vice Chairman, J&K State Kissan Welfare Advisory Board, Kr. Rachpal Singh, Member Parliament, Ch. Lal Singh, Legislatures, . Harshdev Singh, . Balwant Singh Mankotia, . K.C. Bhagat, . Baldev Sharma, Member Legislature Council, . Yash Paul Sharma, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, . Baseer Ahmed Khan, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Udhampur- Reasi range, . Jagjit Kumar, Heads of various departments and district officers were present in the meeting.
