| Major sacrifices life after killing top HM ultra | | |
Srinagar, Nov 28
Another young officer of the Indian army sacrificed his life in the line of duty on Tuesday morning killing one of the top ultras of Hizb-Ul-Mujahideen at Bjibehara in Anantnag.
According to defence spokesman, Major MH Pitambre attained martyrdom after eliminating divisional commander of HM Ashraf Shah alias Suhail Faizal during search operation in the wee hours of Tuesday in one of the houses of Vaid Mohalla in Bijbehara town.
Acknowledging the courageous act of young officer, Brigadier A K Singh, Officiating General Officer Commanding, ‘Victor Force’ said, Major MH Pitambre attained martyrdom saving many lives of innocent civilians from cross fire with the most wanted terrorist of the Area.
Defence spokesman said the young officer entered the hideout all by himself to avoid collateral damage to civil population and house and was trapped under heavy fire by slaim ultra.
Despite being critically wounded the Officer barged into the hideout and gunned down the HM militant, he added.
Official sources said, HM divisional commander had master minded many IED blasts, Car bombs innocent killings and attacks on security forces columns and was actively involved in the militantcy operations for past several years. |
