Shiv Sena activists today staged a demonstration against the Jammu and Kashmir government for its alleged failure to recover over Rs 600 crore from tax defaulters.Sena activists raised slogans and burnt hand written posters depicting tax defaulters."It is a big scam as there has been a huge number of tax defaulters including some influential businessmen and politicians," Shiv Sena state unit president Ashok Gupta alleged."Politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen are involved in the looting of the state exchequer. The state government is sleeping over the scam," he claimed.Over Rs 600 crore is yet to be claimed by the government as sales tax from various businessmen, he said."If the government fails to recover the amount and take action against the erring businessmen, bureaucrats, Sena will launch a major agitation in Jammu by next week," Gupta warned.
