| SFC Scam Court grants bail to Manager SFC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, July-19 (JNF):- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal today granted bail to Ravinder Mishra Manager State Financial Corporation who was in the custody of VOJ for the last 12 days. While allowing the bail application Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal observed that the applicant presently Manager SFC Ravinder Mishra has been booked for the offence u/s 5(2) r/w 5(1) (c), 5(1) (d) of PC Act and sections 120-B/420/468/471 RPC. Admittedly the offences are grave in nature as loss is alleged to have been caused to the State exchequer by the accused persons but at the same time the accused is in custody of VOJ for the last 12 days and investigation agency had taken sufficient time to interrogate and collect the evidence against him. CPO/IO has not been able to show the Court as to what legal purpose will be served by the extending his further detention, especially when the other accused Ajaz Iqbal then MD SFC presently Commissioner/Secretary ARI & Training has been granted interim anticipatory bail by the High Court. The apprehension of CPO that in the event of grant of bail, the accused-applicant will influence the witnesses can be taken care of by imposing suitable conditions and bail cannot be refused merely on this ground. With these observations Court ordered that the accused-applicant be admitted to bail if he furnishes bail and personal bond to the tune of Rs 30,000 each with the conditions that he shall cause appearance before IO from 10:00 AM to 12’o Clock daily for next five days and also as and when called for investigation.
