JMC demolishes unauthorized constructions

JAMMU, July 20: Under instructions from Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu S C Sawheny, the Enforcement Staff led by Chief Enforcement Office alongwith police force while continuing the drive against the violations / unauthorized constructions demolished various constructions.
The team demolished the RCC pillars of ongoing construction of Mohd Shafi S/o Noor Din which was being raised by unauthorized means on 1st floor at Malik Market, Shanker Colony, Bye Pass Road, Jammu.
They also demolished the unauthorized construction of Sansar Chand at OM Nagar,Udheywalla, Jammu which were causing nuisance and insanitary conditions in the area.
Even they demolished the unauthorized construction raised by Romesh Kumar and others by encroaching upon lane at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
The team also removed the banners, hoardings, boards which were erected displayed by different firms / agencies on public places raised unauthorized in the areas of Bye Pass Road, Greater Kailash, Marble Market, Trikuta Nagar Ext. One truck load of such material removed during the drive was impounded in the Municipal Yard at Town Hall, Jammu.

Besides this, the Health Officer of Jammu Municipal Corporation alongwith team of Food Inspectors continued drive to check the quality of food items especially in view of ongoing Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra and inspected about 130 food establishments like restaurants / cooked food dhabas, sugarcane juice reharies, milk & milk Products shops / vendors, fruit juice shops, tea stalls, sweet shops, bakery shops, cut fruits reharies, ice cream shops etc. in the areas of Canal Road, Bhagwati Nagar, Puran Nagar, Yatri Niwas Area, New Plot, Janipur, Kachi Chowni, Krishna Nagar, BC Road etc.
An amount of Rs. 7500.00 (Rupees seven thousand and five hundred) was charged as fine from the defaulters and about 150 Kgs of stale cooked food, Ice Cream which were not fit for human consumption were destroyed on spot.
