Gupta says, Jammu discriminated by Govt. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 20: Expressing concern over continued regional bias with the Jammu region by the ruling leaders, former Union Minister and member Assembly Chaman Lal Gupta today said that people are fed up with the coalition government.
After visiting several areas of his Jammu West constituency, Gupta regretted that no steps are being taken to address the issues of the common man and in turn officials are quite apathetic towards the masses.
He alleged that many of the developmental projects are either left incomplete or they are facing delay due to the nepotism which plagues the administration. Gupta said that it is intriguing that the execution of the developmental projects is being delayed even after the provision of funding by the centre.
“To further add to the woes, the roads and lanes have been dug for laying sewerage system which has given ugly look to the city during the Amarnath and tourist season”, he said.
Gupta alleged that basic amenities are being denied to the people of the city and they continue to face the problem of drinking water shortage, erratic power supply which has become quite unbearable for the masses.
“It seems administration is not concerned with providing basic amenities to the people and they continue to neglect these, while almost all the residential colonies are facinng problem”, he said.
He demanded that immediate steps should be taken to address the problems being faced by the citizens as promised by the NC-Congress government when it took charge of the state.
