| Unscrupulous shopkeepers fined in Anantnag | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
ANANTNAG, JULY 20: On the behest of Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Syed Kifayat Rizvi, the enforcement wing of CA & PD conducted extensive checking of different markets in Anantnag town here today, during which it sealed expired items including baby food, spices, sweets, snacks, biscuits.
Headed by Enforcement Inspector, Syed Mukhtar, the squad also challaned several shopkeepers for not displaying rate lists in their business establishments. It also imposed a fine of Rs 11,800 on the shopkeepers for indulging in unscrupulous trade practices.
Meanwhile, the squad issued strict warning to the shopkeepers to desist from unscrupulous trade practices. They were directed to display updated rate lists in their establishments and avoid hoarding.
