| Keep good rapport with people: Jora to PDD staff | | ‘Field functionaries a strong unit of PDD’ | | JAMMU, NOV 28 Urging the Power Development Department employees to put in their strenuous efforts to streamline power supply in the state, Minister for Power Mr.Nawang Rigzin Jora said that power pilferage once rampant in the state has been reduced to a great extent due to its judicious use by the people and dedication of the field staff. Mr. Jora was addressing at a function organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Electric Department Lineman and Workers Union here today. The Minister stressed upon the employees’ right from bottom to the top to channelize their service more efficientyly in order to keep a good rapport in the public. He said that field staff is a strong unit of the department in realization of revenue and to avoid power pilferage so it has to be more hardworking and vigilant in discharging their duties. Mr. Jora gave a patient hearing to the demands put-forth by the union and said that their genuine demands would be considered sympathetically. He said implementation of SRO regarding regularization would be considered after consultation with other ministries including Public Health Engineering and Roads and Buildings. The Union projected a charter of demands including regularization of daily wagers who have completed seven years of their services, engagement of experienced hands on ongoing works, fixation of grade structure of non-gazetted employees, risk allowance, two and half day pay to all executive cadre and release of remuneration for daily wagers. Among others, Development Commissioner Power Mr. Showkat Rashid Wani and Chief Engineer Power, Jammu Mr. D. S. Pawar also spoke on the occasion. |
