BJP allege Rs 200 scam in Rajouri CAPD deptt | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, July 20: Alleging Rs 200 crore scam in Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department, Bhartiya Janta Party today took to streets, burnt effigy of Minister for CAPD Shabir Ahmed Khan and demanded constitution of Commission to probe the scam. As per reports, Bhartiya Janta Party activists under the leadership of Vibodh Gupta took to Rajouri streets and held protest against minister of state Shabir Ahmed Khan alleging that there is Rs 200 crore scam in his department and he is not investigating it due to reason better known to the minister. The BJP leaders demanded immediate Commission to probe this scam. Alleging that there is large scale bungling in the distribution of ration and Anthodia are been black marketed for the last many years, he said that the ration of people are being sold in open market and minister is mute on the issue. “We want that minister should clear his stand on this scam”, he said adding that people of Rajouri are also suffering badly due to poor power supply. He said that it is strange that there is nil performance of all the departments headed by Shabir Ahmed Khan. Meanwhile BJP leaders also targeted the minister on the issue of Rajouri District Hospital and non posting of any executive officer in the Rajouri Municipal Committee. Gupta said that Chief Minister and Health Minister has assured them that child and lady care department will resume functioning in the old hospital but the local minister has not pursued the matter. He said that the minister is working against the people of the city and that is why no EO has been adjusted in MC Rajouri for the last one year. Criticizing District Development Board meetings, BJP leaders said that DDB have become formality and there is no involvement of civil society in these meetings. “It would have been great job on part of the Chairman if he held meeting of senior citizens before chairing DDB so that Chairman may have got knowledge about the real problem of the society”, he said adding that without involvement of the civil society these meetings are futile exercise. “There are 10,000 people who elected MLA but there are 63000 people who rejected the present MLA and this 63000 population is suffering and they are not being taken into confidence either by the MLA or by the Chairman Board”, he added.
