Khoda awards 194 personnel for public service

SRINAGAR, July 20:
Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda presented Commendation Medals and Certificates to 194 officers and jawans of Jammu and Kashmir Police at an impressive function held at Armed Police Complex Zewan today. The Medals and Certificates were awarded to those police personnel who worked with dedication and devotion in service of the people and the nation during the year 2010.
The investiture ceremony was organized by Additional Director General of Police, Armed/Law & Order, K Rajendra Kumar and was attended by top brass police officers, which include Additional Directors General of Police, Dr. Ram Lubhaya, D.R Dolley and Mr. Navin Aggarwal, Inspectors General of Police, S. M. Sahai, Raja Aijaz Ali, Owais Ahmed, Dr. B. Srinivas, Farooq Ahmed, Deepak Kumar and Rouf-ul-Hassan.
Congratulating the awardees, Khoda stressed upon them to work with more dedication and commitment in the service of the people while discharging their duties. He said that JKP has been graded among the best forces of the country and the jawans and officers of the Organisation have always preferred the security and safety of the people for which they have sacrificed their personnel comforts.
DGP disclosed that the department is aware about the hostile conditions in which our personnel are discharging their professional duties adding that the government also recognizes their contribution in the development of the State at different levels. He said that JKP has a vast thought of professional policing and the force is carrying out various schemes under the Civic Action Programme for the betterment of the people, besides professional policing.The awardees include 13 Superintendents of Police, 2 Chief Prosecuting Officers, One Senior Prosecuting Officer, 15 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 17 Inspectors, 23 Sub-Inspectors, 13 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 34 Head Constables, 57 Constables/ Followers and 19 SPOs. Among others, the function was attended by Deputy Inspectors General of Police, M.S Salaria, Alok Puri, Abdul Qayoom Manhas, Abdul Gani Mir, T. Namgyal, A. S. Bali, P R Manhas, J.P Singh, Danish Rana, Garib Dass, Vijay Kumar, K. L. Bhagat and Johney William, AIsGP (PHQ) Ghulam Hassan Bhat and Nisha Nathyal, Commandants of Armed/IRP Battalions and other senior police officers.
