7/21/2011 9:54:05 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Poonch, July 21: The trade between Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) through the Chakan-Da-Bagh Crossing point in the Poonch district on Thursday touched Rs 1.79 crores, district officials said.

As many as 28 trucks carrying coconut, chilli, pickle and embroidery items worth Rs 1.79 crore (Rs 1,79,47,476) rolled out from Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC) at Ranger, in Poonch district of J&K, to PoK late last night, they said.

However, 16 trucks from PoK traders, carrying various items, were returned as several items had 'made in Kenya' labels, which Trade Facilitation Officer (TFO) of India refused to allow, they said.

The trade was suspended following strike by the Cross-LoC traders in protest against the imposition of tax by state government on LoC traded 3 and half months ago. Trade was resumed again on June 29, after issue was sorted out between government and traders last week.
