Panel to seek view points before filing report

SRINAGAR, July 21: House panel constituted to look into the causes of frequent road accidents in erstwhile Doda district today shot letters to home, transport, tourism, BEACON and R&B departments seeking their view points on the issue.

The Committee, which met here today under the chairmanship of M Y Tarigami decided to analyse observations of all the concerned departments before filing a comprehensive report on the subject.

The Committee also decided to have separate meetings with different departments for smooth operation of traffic as well as to convey interim observations to them for reducing incidence of road mishaps in the trio hilly districts of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar.

Legislators, Abdul Majid Wani and Wakar Rasool Wani besides senior concerned officers of Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
