Spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shanker arrives Srinagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 21: Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the eminent spiritual guru and founder of the Art of Living Foundation, arrived in Srinagar today. During his four day visit, besides certain official engagements, the revered Guru will be interacting with his devotees, who come across from all sections of society. Sri Sri will be arriving in Jammu on Saturday on his second leg of the tour of the state, where he will be laying foundation stone of a library complex and inaugurating a centre of meditation in an educational institution. A devotee darshan will also be held later in the evening at a devotee’s place. The visit of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, reckoned by Forbes magazine as one of India’s 5 most influential people, comes immediately after the renowned Guru became the first Indian to receive the Crans Montana Forum Award. This award in the past has been mainly received by politicians of high repute like Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, Shimon Peres, the European Commission and Mikhail Gorbachev, Former President of the Soviet Union. The Art of Living Foundation, a non government humanitarian organization founded by Sri Sri, completed thirty years of existence this year. A grand World Cultural Festival was held in Berlin to mark the occasion, where more than 50,000 people from across 151 countries, 6000 artists and 804 dignitaries including ministers, members of parliament and ambassadors participated.
