There are many such incidents in this district but the department could not control as departmental officials are also allegedly involved in the black marketing. Police sources told Early Times that Nowshera Police has seized around 70 bags of Wheat from a vehicle which was on its way from Choki to Jammu for sale in Jammu market. Sources said that police has seized the vehicle and arrested a dealer Satpal Singh resident of Choki alongwith the driver of the vehicle. Following specific inputs, police party according to sources reached the spot from where the truck was to pass and stopped it and seized the ration after searching it. Police said that ration had been lifted from Choki Food Store and was scheduled to be sold in Jammu on low rates. They suspected involvement of departmental officials. Police confirmed that they have lodged FIR against the dealer, driver and a store keeper and initiated the action. It is pertinent to mention here that a truck of the CAPD Rajouri was seized on June 17 2011 at Darhal in which 20 bags lifted for black marketing were seized by the SHO Darhal. An FIR against a dealer of the area was lodged in this regard and two people were arrested. Earlier on Wednesday Bhartiya Janta Party leaders in Rajouri had alleged that black marketing is going on in the CAPD and department has completely failed to check it. |
