Narrow win for Aircell XI in night cricket | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 22: Despite all-round performance from Sunny Gill, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) XI lost the match by a narrow margin of four runs to Aircel XI in the ongoing J&K Secular Cup (night) Cricket Tournament at JDA Park on the bank of Tawi, here. Sunny, who earlier took two wickets and contributed maximum 33 runs, could not lead his side to victory. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Aircel set a target of 88 runs for the loss of seven wickets in allotted 12 overs, which, in reply, JMC XI could not chase and exhausted their quota of 12 overs short of four runs to the winning total with one wicket in hand. Ajay was top scorer from Aircel with 34 runs while Brijesh contributed 19. From JMC XI, Sunny Gill and Sonu took two wickets each. Later, JMC XI could make 83 runs despite great efforts from Sunny Gill, who made 33 runs. Chetan claimed three wickets from Aircel XI while Sunil Sambyal bagged two. Though JMC lost the match, the organizes declared Sunny Gill as man of the match for his great efforts to make it a win. This tournament is being organised by J&K Secular Cricket Cup.
