| Not even a single inch of land will be leased to outsider: Dilawar | | | Srinagar, Nov 28 Minister for Tourism Dilawar Mir has reiterated that even a single inch of land will not be allotted to any outsider in Jammu & Kashmir State. However he regretted that National Conference and Hurriyat Conference created an un-necessary hype by bring the issue into focus and forced people to observe complete shut down in valley on Saturday last. Talking some media persons at Dak Bungalow Anantnag, Mir said "I know how many outsiders have purchased land on lease in the state". Alleging that former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah gifted a vast area of land for construction of Batra Medical College against payment of few pea nuts, but now speculations are rife that the same medical college is being sold at a cost of Rs5000 crores. As Mir's face turned pale with anger, he asked "Haven't people of Kashmir been deceived by leasing out this patch of land". Advising National Conference and Hurriyat Conference leaders not to force him to open his mouth, Mir said " If I come to disclose things, a Pandora box will be opened". Claiming that Congress and PDP, the two main constituent groups of Coalition Government, are committed to distribution of equal share to all the three regions of the state in every sphere of development, Dilwar said the capacity of hotels in Gulmarg is one thousand beds, while the demand has risen to all time high 10,000 beds as on today and Government was forced to lease out state land to local entrepreneurs to meet the growing requirement in Gulmarg.Responding to the decision of National Conference to raise the issue of land lease, Dilawar said "We will show them what land lease really is ? They will come to know where they stand. They will find no words to defend themselves".
