Protestors demands for bus service cane charged by Thatri police | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar July 22:- Thatri police today cane charged on people of Bhunzwah area of Kishtwar District who were protesting against non availability of any transportation. The people from Bhunzwah who in large number reach Drabshala to attend the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected Sarpanches and Panches found themselves in the middle of the road as no transport facility is available for Bhunzwah during day time. In order to press demand for transportation facility and action against the Tata Sumo drivers who were charging Rs 100 to 150 for 20 KM destination. The protestors who blocked Kishtwar-Doda road for at least one hour before Thatri police disbursed them by using mild cane charge in which four people including a Sarpanch got injured. The agitating people were shooting slogans against police and District administration for its failure in terms of providing transport facilities. They also accuses the police off hand in glow with the Sumo operators who charge them high fairs from the people of area. They threaten to intensify the agitation in case Govt. fails to provide them regular transport facilities and check on local Sumo operators.
