‘Kishtwar Sanskriti Aur Parampara’, a book on Kishtwar released

UDHAMPUR, July 22: This 180 -page book “Kishtwar Sanskriti Aur Parampara” released recently in a simple function organized by Editor Shiv Nirmohi of village Panthal village of Reasi district which contains much data about various aspects of newly created Kishtwar district in a single volume.
It provides useful information on geography, history, economic, social and cultural heritage of District Kishtwar .
Kishtwar is one among the 8 newly created districts in the State. The district has unique distinction of being one of the biggest districts of the State in area just next to Leh and Kargil districts. Its area is almost one half of the total area of ten districts of the Valley and one third of the area of Jammu region which too has ten districts.
The book written in Hindi language is mainly divided in ten sections giving the vital information about geography , history living style , festivals & tradition s , goddess & god ,cultural ceremonies , languages spoken ,art & literature and Sufi and saints of district. The merit of the book is that the readers can get essential information about Kishtwar.
The author of more than two dozen books in Dogri ,Prime Minister awardee and recipient of dozens of other awards from various literary forums publisher Shiv Nirmohi , in preface of this book, has stated that the objective is to provide useful information about the geography, history , culture and tradition of Kishtwar district in pretext to past to analyse social change and its similarities with Jammu people .
Author has in better way touched the different important topics concerning the social, cultural, historical, economic and heritage of this part of the country. Another feature of this book is the Who’s Who about Kishtwar in it.
The author has already written a book on Padder area of Kishtwar district and has received appreciation from every one .
