| 6 tourist among 10 injured during a grenade explosion | | | Srinagar, Nov 27 Six tourist were among ten people injured during a grenade attack which was carried out in a bid to blow up a vehicle that was carrying a group of tourists to their destination at Tangmarg today. The condition of three injured persons is stated to be critical. Three vendors were arrested immediately after the explosion. A group of tourists traveling in a Qaulis vehicle bearing no:JK02V-7195 halted for a while near hotel Mukhtar at Tangmarg during which some unidentified persons lobbed a grenade on the vehicle. Eye witness said that grenade exploded with a big bang as a result of which window panes of the vehicle were broken and six tourists and four locals who were standing close to the vehicle received multiple injuries. Those injured include Vehicle Inspector Chander Bano, Krishan Kumar, C.R.Raju, T.R.Manu and C.G, all residents of Kerala, driver Rakesh R/O Katra Jammu, Gh Ahmed Rather S/O Mohd Akbar R/O drang Tangmarg, Ab Aziz S/O gh Mohd R/O Qamarwari Srinagar, 10 year old Ishfaq Ahmed Mir S/O Ab Rahim R/O Qazipora and Imtiyaz Ahmed Podh S/O Nazir Ahmed R/O main Ferozpora Tangmarg.Three injured persons identified as Krishan Kumar, Chander Bano and Rakesh were shifted to SMHS hospital in a critical condition, while other injured persons were admitted in Tangmarg hospital. The shopkeepers pullel down their shutters immediately after the explosion and people ran helter skelter to safer places. Meanwhile contingents of police and security forces cordoned off the area in a bid to nab the attackers during which three vendors Fayaz Ahmed Mir S/O Sonaullah R/O Ratnipora Tangmarg, Ab Quayoom Wani S/O Ab Ghani R/O Hom Tangmarg and Fayaz Ahmed Ganaie S/O Gh Mohi-ud-Din R/O Kampora Tangmarg were arrested for questioning. The Gulmarg Hill Development Council, Tangmarg Traders Federation and Gulmarg Mazdoor Guide Union have condemned the attack on tourists .
