Govt goes tough on non -performer contractors
DDC Rajouri directed to lodge FIR against lazy contractors

Rajouri, July 22:-
Government has taken tough stand on the non performance of contractors engaged in the central sponsored schemes with Minister for Industries
and Chairman Rajouri District Development Board Surjeet Singh Salathia passing on directions to Deputy Commissioner Rajouri to lodge First
Information Report against contractors who show non performance in implementing Rajive Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yogna scheme.
Chairing District Development Board meeting held here in the Dak Banglow Rajouri Minister for Industries Surjeet Singh Salathia said that government will not tolerate the dilly dallying attitude of the contractors in central sponsored schemes. He said that those contractors found lazy will be taken to task. He directed DDC Rajouri
to lodge FIR against those contractors who show low performance in
implementing RGGVY scheme of the centre. He said that it is big scheme
but contractors are showing non performance in its implementation.
Meanwhile sources said that on the pattern of Jammu and Srinagar
cities, it was discussed to have flyover in Rajouri to culminate all
traffic problem of this border town.
Giving approval, Surjeet Singh Salathia said that the demand is
genuine to mitigate various problems of the people and passed on
directions of preparing a proposal for the construction of 2nd bridge on Munawar Tawi. When constructed, the bridge will culminate all traffic problems in the area. It has been proposed from 25 Div of Army Gate to District Hospital. A Parallel bridge to Abdullah Bridge in the city besides using old Hospital building as Mini Hospital were also approved in the meeting.
An urgent matter of dumping system was also discussed in the meeting following which it was directed by the Chairman to acquire some land for proper dumping of garbage of the city.
