Better services to KMs prime concern of government: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, July 22: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla visited Kashmiri Migrants (KMs) township at Jagti in Nagrota and reviewed the facilities being provided by the Relief and Rehabilitation department to the displaced families of Kashmir valley. Relief Commissioner (M) Vinod Koul besides other senior officers of Relief and Rehabilitation departments accompanied the Minister. Interacting with the KMs, Bhalla said Government is committed to provide all basic services to them in the township including adequate drinking water, power, better roads, schools, hospitals and multipurpose community halls facilities. He said the township have been developed in 176 blocks with 4218 two-room flats in 6 zones besides facilities for 40-bedded hospital, link roads, parks, internal links, one higher secondary school, one middle school and two community halls at a cost of Rs. 385 crore under Prime Minister’s Reconstruction Plan (PMRP). Responding to the demands of KMs, the Minister informed that Government has already earmarked land for construction of Panch Mandir, Maa Durga temple and Shiv temple in the vicinity of the township so that the KMs could prey there. During the visit, Bhalla handed over the land to the residents and laid foundation of Panch Mandir, Maa Durga temple and Shiv temple in the presence of residents of the township. He assured all help from Government in construction of religious places in the township. Regarding facilities like mini bus services, ration depot, uninterrupted power supply and medical services round the clock, Bhalla assured the KMs their genuine hardships would be redressed in a phased manner adding that the Government is fully aware of KMs hardships and is making all out efforts to provide all infrastructural facilities to them.
