JPFF warns JK govt of dire consequences over CU-J | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 23: Condemning police cane charge on students demanding that Central University Jammu be made functional, Jammu Province People's Forum on Saturday warned the JK government of dire consequences if the demands are not met. "We warn the state Government of serious consequences if the Central University Jammu is not made functional," JPPF chairman Pavitar Singh told reporters here today. "State and Union government should avoid such situation by appointing a competent academician of high calibre, preferably a local one, as Vice Chancellor and make CU-J functional," he said. Condemning yesterday's police lathicharge on students protesting inordinate delay in making CUJ functional, Singh said, "The use of force against the students pressing for a genuine demand and fighting for a just cause peacefully shows the inhuman face of the police and the state administration.
