Madan takes stock of people’s grievances at Roopnagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, JULY 23- Member Parliament, Mr. Madan Lal Sharma today convened a public meeting at Roopnagar to take stock of people’s grievances besides listening to their demands. Vice Chairman, OBC Development Board, Mr. Kuldeep Raj Verma was also present on the occasion. The MP is reviewing the people’s grievances and demands ward wise so that these could be taken up at an appropriate level for their redressal at the earliest. He said that government is endeavouring a lot in fulfilling the requirements and aspirations of the people of the state and appealed the people to supplement government’s efforts of better development. Mr Madan Lal Sharma also announced construction of two cremation sheds at Paloura and Roopnagar out of MPLAD fund. Mr. Madan Lal elaborated a number of state and centrally sponsored schemes for development and urban and rural areas as well like JNNURM, housing for urban poor, MGNREGA, SGRY, IAY, etc. He exhorted upon the people to take maximum benefits from such schemes to empower them socially and economically. The MP said that the state is progressing day by day in every field of development due to the liberal funding being provided by the Centre Government. He hoped that the Centre will continue to support the State morally and financially as well in future also. The people of the area projected various demands and problems like water scarcity, unscheduled power cuts, better roads, etc. Mr Madan Lal also stressed the need for early open of central university classes at Jammu and appointment of Vice Chancellor so that students’ community can be benefited.
