Gun license scam 10 day judicial remand for accused

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, July-23 (JNF):- Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Pawan Dev Kotwal today granted 10 day judicial remand of alleged accused Babal Singh who was allegedly involved in the much publicized fake gun license case registered by Janipur Police Station under FIR NO 18/2011 u/s 420/467/468/471/120-B/161/165-A/201 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act r/w section 5(2) of J&K PC Act 2006. The accused has been arrested on July 13, 2011.

While granting judicial remand of accused, the court observed that accused has been brought in custody by Mohd Rashid member SIT and prayer has been made for judicial remand of the accused for 10 days. The case dairies have been perused. The accused appears to be involved in the said case. The perusal of the case dairies reveals that accusation attributed to the accused is of serious nature and required a detailed investigation and is in progress and therefore, member of the SIT prayed for the judicial remand and accused is remanded to judicial custody for 10 days.
