Padgaonkar should resign over Fai links: KPs
7/23/2011 11:42:26 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 23:
A joint forum of Kashmiri Pandit migrants Saturday demanded the resignation of Dilip Padgaonkar, who heads the three-member central government appointed interlocutors on Kashmir, alleging that he had links with suspected Pakistani agent Ghulam Nabi Fai.
The organisation for displaced Kashmiri Pandits also demanded a thorough probe to unravel the names of Indians associated with the ISI operative and lobbyist. "We ask Padgaonkar to resign from the post in view of his exposure with Dr Fai.
He cannot continue on a public post that too is connected with affairs of Jammu and Kashmir," Panun Kashmir President, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo told reporters here today. Flanked by president of ASKPC, A N Vaishnavi,
NCMCC chairman D N Kissu, he said "his continuance on the post will create mistrust as he is dealing with very important subject on Kashmir". Lashing out at the vicious anti-India campaign launched by Fai in the US on the behest of Pakistan and ISI, Chrungoo said "there is full exposure of the people of various walks of life who were connected with Fai and can pose threat to the country". "We demand a thorough probe into his entire network in Jammu and Kashmir and country," he said adding that this is urgently needed. Pandits in Kashmir have been the worst victims of the campaign launched for the past two decades by his Council baked by ISI, he said. It has caused damage to Indian interests globally and has negatively influenced some Congressmen and other opinions makers, he said.
