| Budhal Sarpanches hold protest against PDD | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Rajouri, July 23 :-
Sarpanches of three Budhal Panchayats along with the people today
throng streets and hold protest demonstration against Power
Development Department for allegedly ignoring their areas in the power
sector.
As per reports three Budhal Sarpanches namely Manzoor Ahmed Sarpanch
Rehan, Fazal Chouhan Sarpanch Trallan and Bagh Hussain Sarpanch Kakora
along with the people of the area hold protest in front of Deputy
Commissioners office Rajouri alleging that PDD has ignored their areas
in power sector.
They alleged that the people of Trallan, Sankari, Rehan, Sawari,
Sakri, Kakora and Gaghrote villages of tehsil Kotranka are suffering
due to poor power infrastructure. They said that majority of the areas
are without power and those where power has been provided are not
getting it properly.
These Sarpanches the Department has initiated a process of supplying
Electric Polls and Transformers to these areas but the work stopped
abruptly and when they approached the department, officials told them
that it has been stopped on the direction of some political leaders.
Fazal Chouhan said that they approached MP Madan Lal Sharma and
Minister of State for Power Shabir Ahmed Khan and narrated the
episode with them following which these leaders directed the officials
to start work in the area but the work could not started due to reason
better known to the department.
All these Sarpanches said that if the work on power schemes will not
be restored in the area, they will took to the streets along with the
all the people of these Panchayats
