Umer, Ahsan excel in cycle race | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, July 23: Umer Nabi and Ahsan Majeed shared the top honours in the Youth Development Race which was organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Police by involving the cyclists of the Valley, here today. Umer Nabi, who contested in senior men’s category, covered a distance of 22.6 kilometers from Oberoy Gate to Hazratbal and back to clinch the first place. Second place in this group went to Mohd Akber while Anzil Mukhtar remained third. Ghulam Rasool Kawa and Tariq Ahmad Khan finished fourth and fifth respectively. Similarly, Ahsan Majeed clinched first place in junior boys group. He covered a distance of 20 kilometers from Oberoy Gate to Dag Park and back. Amir Ashad bagged second place while Mufeed ul Zaman was third. Umaid and Umer remained fourth and fifth respectively. The competing cyclists were allowed a maximum speed of 55 kilometers per hour.
